The Awakening captivates the eye with its dynamic interplay of colour, form, and movement to create themes and ideas that captivate & challenge the viewer’s mind. The figure in between the painting is a muscular man who appears to carry a very large island, the muscular man and the island are both painted with the same shade of Dark green in order to convey the idea that the following theme is human nature; it is in our human nature to overthink . It is left to the reader to decide whether the island is a work of the figures imagination or the figure really bears this heavy island. Feeding into the theme of overthinking. A constellation of the Leo star sign represents power therefore it is to associate the idea that a man’s mind is powerful & it can make or break him. bursting with electric blues, fiery reds, and woody greens, swirling together in an expressive dance. The brushstrokes, thick & textured convey raw emotion, each layer revealing a story beneath the surface. A moon in the red sky & a sun in the cold sea. This symbolises the circle of life.
